Bruce Catton

Charles Bruce Catton was an American journalist and historian who specialized in narrative accounts of the American Civil War. Known for his well-researched popular history, he focused on character-driven vignettes and detailed analysis. In 1954, he received both the Pulitzer Prize for History and the National Book Award for Nonfiction for his work A Stillness at Appomattox, the final volume of his Army of the Potomac trilogy.
