Donato Bramante

Donato Bramante was an Italian architect and painter who introduced Renaissance architecture to Milan and the High Renaissance style to Rome. Appointed by Pope Julius II, he designed the Tempietto in 1502 and created the initial plan for St. Peter's Basilica. His work remains a foundational influence on the development of High Renaissance architecture.
