Edmund White

Edmund White (1940–2025) was an American novelist, memoirist, biographer, playwright, and essayist. A pioneering figure in LGBTQ literature, he was noted for his intimate, elegant prose exploring gay identity and relationships. His significant works include the semi-autobiographical trilogy comprising A Boy's Own Story, The Beautiful Room Is Empty, and The Farewell Symphony, as well as the sex-positive guide The Joy of Gay Sex.
