J. H. Elliott

Sir John Huxtable Elliott (1930–2022) was a British historian and Hispanist. He served as Regius Professor at the University of Oxford and held honorary fellowships at Oriel College, Oxford, and Trinity College, Cambridge. Publishing his academic work under the name J. H. Elliott, he was a prominent scholar in the fields of Iberian studies and history.
