John Fairbank

John B. Fairbanks was an American landscape painter and an early art instructor at Brigham Young Academy. He studied in Paris before painting murals for the Salt Lake and Mesa Arizona temples, and he holds the distinction of being the first artist to live and paint in Zion National Park. A founding member of the Utah Art Institute, he also served as the official photographer for Benjamin Cluff’s South American expeditions.
