Lucio Apuleio

Lucio Apuleio was a 2nd-century Numidian writer, Platonist philosopher, and rhetorician born in the Roman province of Madauros. Educated in Athens, he traveled extensively across Italy, Asia Minor, and Egypt. He is best known for his prose writing and the Apologia, a published defense he delivered after being accused of using magic to court a wealthy widow.
