Moses Mendelssohn

Moses Mendelssohn was a German-Jewish philosopher and theologian whose work became a cornerstone of the Haskalah, or Jewish Enlightenment. Born in Dessau, he transitioned from a traditional rabbinical education to become a prominent cultural figure in German-speaking Europe. Beyond his philosophical contributions, he was involved in the Berlin textile industry and gained recognition for his writing on religion and identity.
