Vergil

Publius Vergilius Maro was an ancient Roman poet active during the Augustan period. He is best known for composing the Eclogues, the Georgics, and the epic Aeneid, which remain among the most significant works in Latin literature. While various minor poems were historically attributed to him in the Appendix Vergiliana, modern scholarship generally considers these works to be spurious.
