William Blake

William Blake was an English poet, painter, and printmaker who became a seminal figure in the Romantic Age. Although largely unrecognized during his lifetime in London, he produced a diverse body of symbolically rich work. Blake famously embraced the imagination as the core of human existence, creating what he referred to as his prophetic works.
